    • Sant Ramanand Ji was the voice of the Ravidassia community. Those that had him assassinated could see that that the Ravidassia community had progressed rapidly and therefore by killing put a stop to it. But, this has surely united the poor people of India. Jai Gurdev.

    (Ad Dharm)

    The term Ad Dharm is grossly misinterpreted by the society for self interests of a group of people or it is out of ignorance. This word Ad Dharm has two component words such as “Ad” means the origin or “Creation” and “Dharm” means the belief. “Ad” leads us to understand the process of Creation by the Almighty God. Read the process of Creation as under:

    Day one: In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. 2 Now the earth was formless and empty, darkness was over the surface of the deep, and the Spirit of God was hovering over the waters. 3 And God said, “Let there be light,” and there was light. 4 God saw that the light was good, and he separated the light from the darkness. 5 God called the light “day,” and the darkness he called “night.” And there was evening, and there was morning—the first day.

    Day two: And God said, “Let there be a vault between the waters to separate water from water.” 7 So God made the vault and separated the water under the vault from the water above it. And it was so. 8 God called the vault “sky.” And there was evening, and there was morning—the second day.

    Day three: Then God said, “Let the land produce vegetation: seed-bearing plants and trees on the land that bear fruit with seed in it, according to their various kinds.” And it was so. 12 The land produced vegetation: plants bearing seed according to their kinds and trees bearing fruit with seed in it according to their kinds. And God saw that it was good. 13 And there was evening, and there was morning—the third day.
    Day four: And God said, “Let there be lights in the vault of the sky to separate the day from the night, and let them serve as signs to mark sacred times, and days and years, 15 and let them be lights in the vault of the sky to give light on the earth.” And it was so. 16 God made two great lights—the greater light to govern the day and the lesser light to govern the night. He also made the stars. 17 God set them in the vault of the sky to give light on the earth, 18 to govern the day and the night, and to separate light from darkness. And God saw that it was good. 19 And there was evening, and there was morning—the fourth day.

    Day five: And God said, “Let the water teem with living creatures, and let birds fly above the earth across the vault of the sky.” 21 So God created the great creatures of the sea and every living thing with which the water teems and that moves about in it, according to their kinds, and every winged bird according to its kind. And God saw that it was good. 22 God blessed them and said, “Be fruitful and increase in number and fill the water in the seas, and let the birds increase on the earth.” 23 And there was evening, and there was morning—the fifth day.

    Day six: And God said, “Let the land produce living creatures according to their kinds: the livestock, the creatures that move along the ground, and the wild animals, each according to its kind.” And it was so. 25 God made the wild animals according to their kinds, the livestock according to their kinds, and all the creatures that move along the ground according to their kinds. And God saw that it was good.
    26 Then God said, “Let us make mankind in our image, in our likeness, so that they may rule over the fish in the sea and the birds in the sky, over the livestock and all the wild animals and over all the creatures that move along the ground.”
    27 So God created mankind in his own image,
    in the image of God he created them;
    male and female he created them.

    God’s purpose: God blessed them and said to them, “Be fruitful and increase in number; fill the earth and subdue it.

    Man appointed as Deputy of God: Rule over the fish in the sea and the birds in the sky and over every living creature that moves on the ground.”

    Surely this is the most original point of faith which we may name as “Ad Dharm”.
    The section of people that believe in the Almighty God and His process of Creation in six days, creation of man in His own image, appointing the man the “Ruler” over the entire creation may be called by the believers of “Ad Dharm” means the belief before the religions of the world that man has invented. The believers of Judaism, Christianity, Islam and other faiths with the same belief may be designated as the followers of Ad Dharm. The total population of believers of Ad Dharm may be not less than 75% of the World population.

    In India, a seeker of truth named Babu Mangu Ram Mughowalia who came up from Ravidasia caste of Punjab (India) was in search of the true God. It is obvious that while he was in fellowship with Christian Missionaries, he should have learned a lot about the process of creation, fall of man into sin and the message of salvation through Jesus Christ.

    While touring the world he came to California and joined the people fighting for the liberation of the country from the British yoke. They were called GADDRIES
    During his stay in California, though he joined the liberation front called GADDRI BABAS fighting for the independence of the country but he carried the inner pain of the sufferings untouchable people of India in the hands of upper castes. They had no ray of hope for liberation even if country gets independence. He shared the said pain with other members of liberation group. Ultimately he returned back to India to work for the liberation of his own people.

    He was an educated man, a school master and had studied the writings of Sri Guru Ravidas ji. He found the that the untouchable Saints of India had similar belief. He read Guru Ravidas ji again and again and found that Sri Guru Ravidas wrote his first worship song that God created man in His own image, man fell into sin and God sent the Redeemer for saving the falling man.

    Read in Hindi :
    Tohi Mohi, Mohi Tohi Anter Kaisa
    Kanak Katak Jal Tarang Jaisa.

    Means God I find no difference in Thee and me. It is like the relationship between ornament and Gold or water and wave. He expressed that he was (man) in the image of God. Bible says God made man in His own image.

    Jao Pe Ham Na Pap Karanta, Ahe Annanta
    Patit Pawan Nam Kaise Hunta.

    Had I (man) not fallen into sin how Thou would have become Redeemer. This he spoke of coming of Jesus for redemption of fallen man into sin
    He read that the total writings of Sri Guru Ravidas ji is the preaching of Christian faith.
    Sri Guru Ravidas ji closed his worship songs with the Gospel message as:

    Hari So Heera Chhdake Karenh Aan Ki Ass
    Te Nar Dizakh Jainge Sat Bhakhe Ravidas.

    Means whosoever keeps hopes in anyone other than Hari (Redeemer) will surely fall into hell.

    Here the dictionary meaning of Hari is the person who steals away something. In this context it is for Jesus who stole away the sins, pains and infirmities of fallen human race.

    Since Babu Mangu Ram was enlightened through the process of creation at the origin, he based new faith with title “Ad Dharm”. During his life time he got it registered with the Government of India and also it came up as a recognized religion in the country.
    Since Babu Mangu Ram and his followers had their roots in Ravidasia community (untouchable community) so it became the religion of untouchables.

    The Brahminical forces ate it away and it finally vanished from Indian soil.

    I just want to invite all the people of untouchable communities to revive it. It does not bring hate to you but an honor. You are in among 75% of the population of the world who believe in Ad Dharm (The Religion before religions)

      Yes it is possible. Just make sure you cover your head with a scarf or some hat or cloth as it traditional to do so. Then speak to somebody who speaks english to show you around and explain things if you have questions. If you go to the big temple on Soho Road you may get more help and support. For many years i have been associated with the Hindu and Sikh chamars in foreign land Many of my friends who belongs to Chamar caste majority of them are well educated holding a good position jobs self made and without begging from the Government. Their successful achievements have also let many to the inter caste marriages of them or vice versa to jatt, Tarkhan, Kambojh and Khatri Sikh both men and women respectively.Sadly some of the comments who i belied have posted from India are still infested with their sick ego of macho and believing in their
    superiority caste system where as in America Canada or U.K successful achievements of life are given the value most.

    SHAIVISM-BUDDHISM-SIKHISM-RAVIDASIA.
    All bahujan were Shaiv…followers of shiv-shakti…Shiva is non vedic deity. He is adiyogi means first buddh purush. He alwyas opposed ved,yadnya n varna system. He has given 112 meditation techniques. All meditation belongs to him. Ardhanarishwar shows the equality betwn men n women. Man n woman is incomplete without each other. In shaivism Shivlinga is worshiped,which is symbol of creation (reproduction). But vedic (brahmin,kshatriya,vaishya) hijack Shiva n make him vedic deity.
    Now shaiv are called as hindu. Actuly vedic are not hindu.they are different. . They dont worship idol. They only worship fire n yadna. In vedas idol worshiping is not permited.
    Even though vedic become priest only for Dakshina n to take command on shaiv. They dont call themselvs hindu/shaiv. But called vedic sanatani. So from now keep in mind that we are shaiv (now called as hindu) n vedics are diff.
    In India charmkar of diff states are of diff culture n follows diff sect n faith. Ex. Shaivism,buddhism,sikhism,ravidasia. In southern states charmkar (called as dhor kakkayya,haralayya,machigar etc) follows Shaivism. Our charmkar guru Haralayya n guru Kakkayya were from this sect. They were followers of guru Basaveshwar. In north India like punjab n Haryana, the charmkar (called as chamar,jatav,ravidasia) are from Sikh sect. Now they have formed their own religion called Ravidasia,on teaching of charmkar guru Ravidas. On this there is impact of sikhism. In UP Bihar charmkar (called as chamar,jatav,mochi etc) follows teachings of guru Ravidas n Buddhism. Maharashtra is the state in which charmkar (called as chambhar,dhor,harale etc) follows shaivism with that they follows guru Ravidas. We hav to be proud of that our charmkar people are in all these sects.
    Infact shaivism,buddhism,sikhism,ravidasia hav same philosophy.
    I want to say that charmkar from north & south have to share their diff sects n culture n try to know history of each other. And unite the charmkar community.

    In 12 th century
    Haralayya chamar lived with his wife Kalyanamma in the ‘untouchables’ settlements of Kalyana town, where he followed the trade of shoemaking. Once Basava came to Untouchables Street and had puja and lunch in Haralayya’s house, while departing Haralayya greeted politely with the formal salutation “Sharanu” , Basava replied to his greeting by saying “Sharanu Sharanarthi”. The untouchable chamar was struck dumb with surprise that he was treated so courteously by the treasurer of the king. He told his wife that he had committed a terrible sin, since Basava had answered his single greeting with a double salutation and he had not showed his gradituted for this great act of humility. Haralayya and his wife decided thereupon to prepare a special fight for Basava. They cut each a piece of skin from their thighs, tanned it and made from it a beautiful pair of shoes. (The nearly 800-year-old chappals were kept almost intact in a specially-constructed small temple at Bijanall village, in Sedam Taluka, Gulbarga District Karnataka State.) Haralayya called upon Basava in order to present him with the shoes; but Basava surprised and put the chappals on his head and told that “shoe made by Sharanas skin GOD only can wear it” and returned it back.

    On his way back to home, Haralayya met a certain Brahmana named Madhuvarasa (or Madhuvayya) was a minister at the court of king Bijjala. Madhuvarasa saw the beautiful shoes and wanted to buy them. When the Haralayya refused, the shoes were snatched from him by the servants of the Brahmana. Madhuvarasa , however, did not enjoy his new acquisition for very long; because when he put on the shoes, he was immediately smitten by leprosy. His illness became unbearable after some time, but fortunately he had a maid-servant who was a pious Lingayat devotee. She went to Haralayya and fetched water from her master’s bath from the shoemaker’s tank. When Madhuvarasa bathed in this water, he was cured at once. This convinced him of the truth of Lingayat and he underwent the Ishtalinga Deeksha. Moreover, he offered to bring about reconciliation. Such a marriage of a Brahmana girl with an untouchable boy was strictly forbidden in religious law. It was considered to be ‘Pratiloma’ which means literally ‘stroking against the hair’. Bhasaweswara performed the marriage of Sheelavantha, son of a chamar Haralayya, with a Brahmin girl, Lavanya , daughter of Madhavarsa, disregarding massive opposition and resentment from the upper caste elders. Consequently, the reaction to this marriage was very strong. Both fathers were arrested and condemned to death by king Bijjala; bridegroom were blinded and then executed in the “elahootte’ punishment: they were chained to the leg of an elephant and then dragged to death along the streets of the town. The three men named Jagadeva, Mallaya, and Bommayya used the situation and killed the king Bijjala. All Lingayat devotees left kalyana and took refuge in several distant places.
    In karnataka chamar are called as Haralayya
    १२वीं सदी में एक चर्मकार/चमार समाज के संत हरलय्या ने बसवेश्वर को भेंट दी।भक्त की ओर से अपने आराध्य के प्रति समर्पण कोई नया नहीं है। इतिहास में ऐसे अनेक दृष्टांत मिल जाएंगे जहां भक्त की ओर से गुरू के प्रति किया गया समर्पण एक इतिहास बन गया। ऐसी ही एक मिसाल सदियों पूर्व गुलबर्गा जिला में बसे गांव निवासी हरलय्या(चर्मकार) की है। जिसका समर्पण आज भी यादगार बना हुआ है। यहां आज भी १२वीं सदी में बनी पादुकाओं को पूजा जाता है। यह कोई साधारण चप्पल नहीं बल्कि समाज सुधारक,दार्शनिक व वीर शैव धर्म के संस्थापक बसवेश्वरा को भेंट की गई चप्पल है,जो मानव चमड़ी से बनी है। बिज्वल गांव में १२ वीं सदी में चर्मकार हरलय्या ने स्वयं व पत्नी की चमड़ी से तैयार कर एक चप्पल जोड़ी बसवेश्वरा को उपहार स्वरूप दी थी।
    आठ सौ साल पुरानी है पगरखी: कहा जाता है कि हरलय्या बसवेश्वरा के कार्यों से इतना प्रभावित हुए कि उन्होने खुद व पत्नी के शरीर जांघ से चमड़ी निकालकर चप्पल बना दी व बसवेश्वरा को भेंट कर दी।लेकीन बसवेश्वर जी ने उसे पैरो मे न पहनकर सिर से लगा लिया।
    आठ सौ साल पुरानी इस चप्पल (पगरखी) को कीड़ों व खराब होने से बचाने के लिए हजारों श्रद्धालुओं की ओर से १८ वीं सदी में बनाए गए एक छोटे परंतु विशेष मंदिर में रखा गया है। समाज सुधारक बसवेश्वर ने जाति भेद से दूर एक नए वर्ग का उदय कर समाज में व्याप्त कुरीतियों व सामाजिक बुराईयों व जातियता के भेदभाव को मिटाने के लिए व्यापक कार्यक्रम चलाया। हरळय्या(चमार) का बेटा और मधुय्या(ब्राह्मण) कि बेटी का आंतरजातीय विवाह बसवेश्वर ने किया।
    कर्नाटक मे चमार हरलय्या नाम से जाने जाते है।

    उज्जैन के श्रीकर नाम के क्रांतिपुरुष महात्मा बसवेश्वर से मीलने ‘कल्याण’ (बसव) गये।यहा पहली मुलाकात में श्रीकर नाम के ढोर चमार जातीके व्यक्ती को बसवेश्वर ने ‘र्बी डोहर हळ्ळी कक्कय्या’ ऐसे पुकारा और श्रीकर समस्त शरण मे ‘कक्कय्या’ नाम से जाने गए।उन्होने वीरशैव धर्म अपनाया।महात्मा बसवेश्वर ने उनके पदो मे कक्कय्या का गौरव किया है।हरलय्या(चमार) का बेटा और मधुय्या(ब्राह्मण) कि बेटी का आंतरजातीय विवाह कक्कय्या और महात्मा बसवेश्वर ने किया और सामाजिक परिवर्तन वहा से शुरू हूआ।‘कायकवे कैलास’ यानी श्रम ही स्वर्ग है।ईन्सानियत के आगे सब रूढी परंपरा हीन है। जातीवाद खत्म होना चाहिए,वर्णाश्रम को अमान्य करणे की हिंमत बसवेश्वर ने 12 व्या शतक मे दिखाई।उनके इस कार्य मे क्रांतिवीर कक्कय्यां का स्थान अद्वितीय है। महात्मा बसवेश्वर जब कुडल संगम गये तब चन्न बसवेश्वर आदी शरण के संरक्षण के लिए कक्कय्या ने अपने प्राण न्योछावर किए। बिज्जल राजा के सैन्य से हात तलवार लिए कक्कय्या लढे,और शहिद हूए।ये घटना जहा घटी उसे कक्केरी गाव कहते है।वहा कक्कय्या कि समाधी है। इस क्रांतिवीर को वंदन करणे के लिए हर साल महाशिवरात्री को कक्केरी मे मेला लगता है।चमार बांधव यहा आते है। चमार कर्नाटक और महाराष्ट्र के कुछ हिस्से मे ढोर कक्कय्या नाम से जाने जाते है।
    Shrikar Chamar from Ujjain came to meet Basaveshwar at Kalyan(today’s basavkalyan-karnataka)In the first meeting Basaveshwar called him as “Bri dhor halli Kakkayya”. And from dat time shrikar is known as Kakkayya in all sharana.He accept veershaiv dharm.Basaveshwar reunite the veershaiv dharm which is real dharm of bahuian.by this Basveshwar seperated bahujan people from vedic dharm.Basaveshwar have mentioned kakkayya in his hymns.Son of Haralayya chamar got married to the daughter of Maduyya brahmin with thr help of Basaveshwar and kakkayya.And from that event revolution took placed.‘Kaykave kailas’ means work is worship/heaven,saidby Basaveshwar.He opposed ved,varnashram.In this movement kakkayya n harlayya were with Basaveshwar.When Basaveshwar went to kudal sangam Kakkayya fought with king Bijjwal for the safty of sharana.And kakkayya sacrified his life.It happened at kakkeri,karnataka where his grave is there.Chamar(dhor) people visit this place on Mahashivratri at birth anniversary of Kakkayya.
    Chamar are also known as dhor kakkayya in few part of karnataka and maharashtra.
